Second Avenue Software Reports on E3

Los Angeles, CA--May 16, 2006--Mike Gamin, lead developer and program manager, attended and reported on the developments in the gaming world from this years event. Every year, the ESA presents the highly acclaimed Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), the world's most important show dedicated exclusively to the interactive entertainment industry. E3 attracts tens of thousands of industry professionals from around the world to see the latest in interactive entertainment software and related products, and to participate in three days of thought-provoking workshops and seminars. Mike said "It was interesting to see the current direction of the industry, specifically how many of the companies are targeting non-gamers with innovative ways of playing and in more and more cases, learning. Keeping a pulse on the entertainment side of the industry is critical to keeping our lead in on the educational or 'serious gaming' side of the industry. For example Nintendo’s Touch! Generations line targets the 'non-gamer' crowd and demonstrates ways of incorporating new content areas into the gaming market. Will Wright's 'Spore' is particularly impressive and continues to demonstrate innovative design and pushes users to employ critical thinking skills throughout their play.
