Second Avenue Software launches McRae Builder for Canadian client
ROCHESTER, NY - June 13, 2008 - Second Avenue Software, a Pittsford-based software development company specializing in interactive software and media production, announced it has launched a web-based custom design application for McRae Imaging Inc. of Mississauga, Ontario.
McRae Imaging Inc. of Mississauga, Ontario manufacturers portable tradeshow displays. Their prospective customers want to see an accurate visual representation of what their finished display will look like prior to ordering. The cost of having in-house designers create a custom layout for each prospective customer wasn’t feasible for McRae. They determined that they needed a user-friendly online application that would allow McRae dealers to create customized layouts of their display.
McRae talked to a number of Toronto software development firms; however, the solutions put forth by these companies were cumbersome and expensive. McRae expanded their geographic search for a supplier and found Second Avenue Software of Rochester, NY.
Second Ave develops interactive applications for a variety of industries. The interactive challenge presented by McRae presented an exciting opportunity for Second Ave to expand its offerings.
“The Second Avenue team recognized our needs, made some suggestions and quickly had a working prototype online,” said Bob Murray, President of McRae Imaging, “We’re thrilled with their work.”
With the aptly named “McRae Builder”, McRae dealers can log in, upload images and create an image of a finished display that can be printed or emailed. This gives McRae dealers an advantage over their competitors by allowing their customers to see their custom display instead of stock images of sample displays. The builder for McRae’s TradeWind display system is now up and running. McRae has engaged Second Avenue Software to develop builder software for their entire line of display systems.
