Second Avenue Creative Lead Screens New Animated Film

Rochester, NY — June 26, 2006 - The film, "Off the Leash", directed by Second Avenue Software developer Andrew Frueh, was screened in the Little Theatre's Emerging Filmmakers Series #30. Emerging Filmmakers is a monthly series that showcases the work of New York filmmakers. "Off the Leash" is a short animation created by Andrew in his second year of graduate school at the Rochester Institute of Technology's School of Film and Animation. The film is about a young boy who is being taught to draw by his father, but when his creativity takes hold of him, the situtation quickly gets out of hand. In a playful manner, the film explores the idea of finding a person's own voice as an artist, and how parents often try to direct this process based on their own likes and interests. Created entirely using computer animation software, "Off the Leash" is a blend of of 2D and 3D animation styles, what Andrew calls "two-and-a-half-D". Andrew has been a Creative Lead and Multimedia Developer with Second Avenue software since its creation. He will be completing is Master of Fine Arts from RIT in 2007. "Off the Leash" is current playing at film festivals across the country.
