| Spectrum Science: Radioactive Decay _______ | |||||||||||||||||||
|
| This and other Spectrum Science interactives were created to accompany the 2008 release of a Holt, Rinehart and Winston textbook of the same name. The textbook serves as an introductory survey of all the main branches of science. Each interactive was developed by Second Avenue Software's subject matter experts and instructional designers to supplement the material in the textbook. This particular interactive, Radioactive Decay, allows users to explore nuclear reactions and radioactivity. The first section focuses on the different types of radiation, including alpha particles, beta particles, and gamma rays. Next, users get to play the role of an archeologist adventurer, exploring ancient ruins and using carbon-dating to determine the age of artifacts. |
