Biology: Ecosystems and Energy Pyramids _______

This and other Biology interactives were created to accompany the 2008 release of Holt, Rinehart and Winston's high school Biology textbook. Each interactive was developed by Second Avenue Software's subject matter experts and instructional designers to supplement the material in the textbook. In this interactive, students explore the major ecosystems of the planet, and are asked to identify which animals and plants are best suited for which climate. Students also get to explore how different types of animals fill specific roles in an ecosystem. In the final activity, students try to add different types of animals to an ecosystem while still keeping the ecosystem in balance.
