How are scientists able to discover planets so far away from Earth that no optical telescope can see them? This interactive, created for the Adler Planetarium, explores the techniques used to discover these distant celestial bodies. This interactive is one of two created for kiosks at the planetarium. Creating this simulation required a variety of complex equations to model the properties of distant planets orbiting their stars. A tutorial mode was also created to guide users through the use of each individual slider. |
